SW Capital Partners has an outstanding team of investment professionals with strong backgrounds, complementary experiences, integral knowledge of the North American energy industry, and a wealth of relationships.  Collectively, the investment team, having spent their entire respective careers in the energy industry, has expertise across a number of functional disciplines and a variety of North American oil and gas regions.

The investment team has a successful track record in principal investing, acquisition financing, strategic and M&A advisory and oil and gas operations. With our strong team and relationship with Scotia Waterous, which is a limited partner in our fund and which provides us with access to research and other technical expertise, we are uniquely positioned to successfully execute our investment strategy.

Mr. Brown is a Co-Founder, Managing Director and a member of the Investment Committee of SWCP.

Prior to founding SWCP, Mr. Brown was a Managing Director with Scotia Waterous where he was responsible for the origination and execution of M&A advisory assignments. Prior to joining Scotia Waterous, Mr. Brown was a Managing Director and a member of the Executive Committee of Waterous & Co., a leading global oil and gas acquisitions and divestitures advisory firm.  Prior to Waterous & Co., Mr. Brown was an Investment Analyst with ARC Financial, a leading energy focused private equity manager.

Mr. Brown holds Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees in Economics, from the University of Calgary, and a Ph.D. (ABD) in Finance, also from the University of Calgary.

Mr. Hansen is a Co-Founder, Managing Director and a member of the Investment Committee of SWCP.

Prior to founding SWCP, Mr. Hansen was President of Red Deer River Energy Corp., a privately held E&P consulting company. Prior to Red Deer River Energy, Mr. Hansen was a regional Vice President for Unocal Corporation based in Houston where he was responsible for Unocal's International Energy Operations, including Canada, West Africa, Latin America, Russia, Caspian, China, Europe and Alaska. Prior to Unocal, Mr. Hansen was President and CEO of Northrock Resources Ltd., a publicly traded oil and gas company that was built from start-up into a mid-sized operating company producing 35,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day before it was sold to Unocal.

Mr. Hansen graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan.

Mr. Tombar is a Co-Founder, Managing Director and a member of the Investment Committee of SWCP.

Prior to founding SWCP, Mr. Tombar was a Houston-based Vice President with Goldman, Sachs & Co. in the E&P Capital Group — a multi-asset class, proprietary structured energy investing group — where he led deal teams through sourcing, execution and management of a variety of primary market investments in securities and loans. Previously, Mr. Tombar worked in Goldman's Natural Resources Group in New York and Houston where he had direct coverage responsibility for a number of larger upstream oil and gas clients, executed a variety of transactions for private equity clients and private and public oil and gas companies, and developed M&A and financing expertise. Prior to working in the Natural Resources Group, Mr. Tombar was selected as one of four professionals charged with establishing Goldman's European Energy & Power Group based in London. Prior to that, Mr. Tombar worked in Goldman's E&P Principal Investment Area and Investment Banking Group based in New York.

Mr. Tombar graduated with a Master of Business Administration degree from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts degree (Cum Laude) in Applied Math from Harvard University.

Mr. Waterous is a Co-Founder and a member of the Investment Committee of SWCP.

As Vice-Chairman and Head of Global Investment Banking, Adam Waterous is responsible for all of Scotia Capital’s global investment banking activities. In his role as President and Head of Scotia Waterous, he is also responsible for the operations of the oil and gas M&A arm of Scotia Capital. Mr. Waterous has led several substantial oil and gas acquisitions and divestitures in Canada, the United States, Latin America, Europe and Asia, including the sale of both public and private companies, onshore and offshore producing assets, and midstream facilities. Mr. Waterous joined Waterous & Co., a predecessor firm to Scotia Waterous, in September 1991 where he was a member of the firm's Executive Committee and a Founder of the firm.  Scotia Capital acquired Waterous & Co. in 2005.

Before joining Waterous & Co., Mr. Waterous was employed with BCE Development, one of Canada's largest publicly traded real estate development companies. Prior to that, Mr. Waterous worked in the Mergers and Acquisitions department with First Boston Corporation in New York and in management consulting with McKinsey & Company in Toronto.

Mr. Waterous holds an Honours Business Administration degree from the University of Western Ontario, and a Masters degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business School. Being in the top five percent of his class, he was designated a Baker Scholar.
